Optimal concentration and efficiency of the photo fenton system for the treatment of a synthetic textile effluent

The Photo Fenton process is an alternative for the treatment of effluents from textile industry, being a reagent-based chemical on Fe2+ and H2O2 + UV light, whose mechanism consists oxidizing pollutants until they are suitable discharge into bodies water. This research seeks to determine optimum concentration - in synthetic effluent and, subsequently, evaluate efficiency system. was prepared under laboratory conditions, FeSO4 were added at different concentrations, with exposure UV-A light throughout process, it determined that reagent 400 mg L-1 12 ml H2O2, dosage reduced initial turbidity, color, COD by 100%, 99% 83%, respectively, increased DO 11%. Turbidity removal obtained carrying out acid medium (pH 3). presence promoted significant COD. increase this turn, had considerable influence color. Regarding system, excellent high low organic loads, reducing contaminants derived industry processes.
